The road from Jakarta to the south coast of Java was sexy but hard. I haven’t ridden on a such a bad surface since Tajikistan, my 2.5″ touring tires were occasionally not overkill at all. Progress was sweaty and slow up in the hills. As a reward I rode through areas with not many people at all on Java standards.
