Cát Bà Island, Vietnam
After the buzz and booz of Hanoi we tried to find a nice place to relax for a couple of days with Dan. As I was keen to do some fly fishing again Cat Ba island at Halong Bay looked like a perfect place for our needs. However when we got there the island looked more like a construction site and gin clear waters showed to be more like milk coffee. Dan wondered why I ever wanted to come here and I struggled to produce an answer.

We camped in the woods and headed out of the island the next morning. The ride through the island’s nature preserve area was beautiful though, as well was the ferry ride back to be main land through the lime stone cliff islands of Halong Bay. Still it wasn’t easy for Dan to give a smile for a picture.
