Kyzyl Khum Desert, Kazakhstan
After finally getting through the border control and customs to #Kazakstan in #Aktau I cruised my bike in the gentle tailwind to the Kyzyl Khum desert at night. Carrying 15 liters of water and food for three days my bike felt heavier than for a while, but the excitement of entering the first desert of my life made the bike fly. Cycling felt really good under the incredibly bright star sky and three hours of cycling gave me nearly 100km head start to the 2000km of nothingness ahead. Though the campsite I found didn’t reached my top 100. That night I saw the first scorpion of my life, on my sleeping bag. I slept in a sewer pipe under the road.
