Got stuck into my tent near #Montebruno in the mountains of Genova for 30 hours of hammering haling, snowing and pouring rain. A single pole tarp tent is definitely not as it’s best having 10cm of wet snow on it. Woke up after every few hours to remove the snow on the tent. Luckily I had a bottle of local #Limoncello in my pannier, which helped me to survive the two miserable nights up there. The second morning the roads were plowed and the most of the snow melted.
20 minutes after taking off unexpected happened: the first bike tourer for more than 130 days appeared behind the hill! His name was Hans and he had started to cycle around the world a few months earlier from Münich, Germany. He is doing his circumnavigation to the opposite direction to main, so we gonna probably meet up in a year or so on the other side of the planet! He was on his way to catch a freighter to the States. That encounter made me a happy bunny for the rest of the day.
